what I am watching right now
Smash: Season 1, Episode 14
So during this episode you finally get to see more of the post production, some performances of the songs and understand a little more about what they are dong onstage.
The nerves are high and the drama is getting deeper.
My favorite drama of the episode has to be where Dev and Ivy sleep together. Come on…. you knew it was going to happen.
Smash: Season 1, Episode 13
Tech Tech Tech, Oh Tech.
They worked so hard to get to this point. Struggles and drama (oh loads of drama) along the way.
Ivy is discovering the fate of dating the director, seeing Derek and Rebecca get a little chummy (if you know what I mean) and it makes her nervous and at ends of losing her cool. She doesn’t like being upstaged not only on stage but also in her personal relationships. You can tell how much she doesn’t want to let go but also to not face the truth, that she is losing Derek. Ivy cares about the show deeply, not just the fact of being Marilyn (or not being Marilyn) but also because she loves the show, she loves the idea and has since the beginning. That is why so many people root for her to be the star.
Karen is losing herself in the show due to tech, and that is all she can talk about. Dev is then at a loss when he is not meeting his professional obligations and cannot seem to talk to Karen about it.
Then there is Julia and her wreck of a marriage, honey you can’t fool anyone… it is done. Your husband cannot understand your mistake(s) and cannot also understand how you struggle. But also if you love your husband so much why do you keep going back to the other man? Why does he permit you from fulling your dream of finishing the show and getting it to Broadway? It sounds like more than just a physical relationship if you cannot tie yourself away even an ounce when you see him, it is like an addiction.
Charmed: Season 8, Episode 9-22
Ok Ok, so I suck I know. Well it is mostly towards myself that I am horrible because this blog is more of a reflection into how I feel right now and how I see the things I watch. So there, well I still hope you enjoy everything I put on here.
So as for Charmed, the completion of season 8
I was happy to finally finish the season because I was not very excited to finish this particular season. I almost wish they would have ended at Season 7. But I’ve given that beef before in other reviews.
I find that throughout the end of the season they worked really hard at building Billy’s character with introducing her sister and trying to build a strong bond with the charmed ones. You knew then how it was going to end
SPOILER ALERT!
She was going to have to fight the evil that presented itself as her sister, fought a battle that she didn’t want to lose because she didn’t want to lose her sister but also knew deep down that something wasn’t right.
I also like that throughout the season you got to delve into a more sincere love life for pheobe. Although noone will match Cole for me, I think he was her soul mate, but her man in this season comes a close second.
But one thing that I do not like is the fact that they pretty much take Leo out of the picture for the last part of the season. Yeah he is there throughout the dialogue and discussions but his character is not present, and I did not think that it was good how he was frozen from the girls. It almost made no sense and made the cast and story line weaker.
And as for the season finale, it was nice and pretty and all, but it wasn’t a good strong ending. It didn’t have that complete resolution. Even though they showed the characters futures, it felt a little empty.
Well well,
Its come to the point that I watched a lot of differnet episodes and a lot of different shows without updating.
I know, I know, that is horrible. But hey… I had some relaxing time and needed some relaxing time away from blogging as well.
So these next couple of posts will be a culmination of the ending of watching Charmed and also a mix of catching up on different shows.
I will try to do it episode by episode or movie, after this…
New Girl: Season 1, Episode 2
So Jess has her issues, she’s dorky, and quirkey. And this show caught my eye when it first debuted. It isn’t anything utterly impressive but it is cute and Zooey is just plain adorable. I also like the fact that she is a teacher so I get being quirky, since I am a teacher as well.
I think that this tv show has a different quality of humor. It is kinda cutesy-girl-next-door type show, but it is just silly. I dunno, I think I am still on the cusp as to whether or not I really like this show. I thought it was going to help replace the quirky comedy that I loved, My Boys. But I don’t know if anything ever could.
Well in this episode Jess needs to get over her old boyfriend and get her stuff back. I love how they help her get mad and how she terrorizes her old boyfriend by throwing the potted plant and then stealing back all her stuff. It was really cute and the episode needed that little extra drama to continue into the next episode.
Charmed: Season 8, Episode 8
This episode was rather funny but had a poignant topic. The idea that men think they are more superior to women. The episode had a chance to get Billy dressed up in a costume (other than her first ridiculous dominatrix one but quiet similar) where she finds she has the power to bring the sexes together, but ends up having the power overcome her and tries to make women the most powerful sex.
There was a lot of funny one liners but had some great commentary by the girls when finding that they felt that they were being pushed around by the men in their lives, that men were controlling them.
So far, so not so good.. I do not like Rebecca one bit, and especially her influence on Karen.
“Not if you’re one of the masses.” WOW! What a pompous ass statment if there ever was one!!
Bollywood moment of the episode was probably one of my favorite songs and was VERY entertaining. I loved the scenes where they went through the different relationships and the costumes were beautiful!
I do have to say that what Leo did was very irresponsible, and what his friend did by harboring him in his house was a little ridiculous because he is not acting like an adult. I understand they are only juniors in high school, but Leo needs to learn what he needs to do. He should see what he could do with is talents and put them towards school instead of running away. But that is very one sided of me, I don’t really understand what he is going through. But I do understand that your parents breaking up is hard and very sad, but his acting out should not be considered “not his fault”. He needs to understand his actions may hurt others, just like his parents actions hurt him.
And Rebecca… all of your suggestions SUCK THEY SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK!! god do I hate her.
Still hate Ellis as well, Dev needs to get his head out of his butt, and then Tom I am happy for your relationship. I can’t wait to see more of that.
Smash: Season 1, Episode 11
Uma Thurman… Oh Uma Thruman, or in this case Rebecca… What was up with that beginning song. I almost threw up it was so horrible. And as for 36… when did Uma start to look so old? I mean, don’t get me wrong I think she is gorgeous, but definitely too old to play Marilyn.
Oh well, I guess they are doing what they have to do.
When Julia had to go in to talk about Leo’s grades and she blurted out the whole affair scandal to explain his actions… I almost snorted I was laughing so hard. That was amazing.
And then I’m kinda glad to see someone on Karen’s side.. and kinda glad to see Ivy back. I don’t know whats going to happen, but I feel Rebecca is not going to stay.
And then Dev.. oh Dev.. how much I want to strangle you for being so outlandishly ridiculous!!!
Smash: Season 1, Episode 10
Wrecked relationships, wrecked careers, wrecked ambition..
But like I’ve said before, the show must go on… but don’t give all your heart!
As the new talent for the show, Rebecca, is a no show for the buyers/investors of the show.. they are not sure what is going to happen. Should they still keep writing, should they all still care?
Some have more problems to deal with than just a show that is not even taking off just yet, some of the relationships in the show have died.. or are close to breaking.
Julia is dealing with her husband leaving her because of her failed affair with Micheal. And then Dev seems to have a monkey on his back about something…
Karen gets tips from Ivy for the show because she was picked as an understudy and I am not really sure if Ivy is rooting for Karen to win or fail?
And Eileen is able to pick up the pieces of the show, and find an investor that is worth a lot more than you’d think, and in a place where you wouldn’t expect.
